Being pregnant brings with it many exciting events (like growing and birthing a tiny human for example ). However, often during pregnancy, it can feel like there are MANY limitations to the “fun” activities you can participate in. Some that jump to mind includes relaxing in a hot tub, enjoying a glass of wine,  or for the more adventurous, bungee jumping, and skydiving, just to name a few.

But if you live in Sudbury and are pregnant, there are actually several options of things to do around the city.  We have created Northern Mama’s Guide to Pregnancy in Sudbury (a list of kick-ass stuff you can do while pregnant).

1.Sew Local Stich Lounge

If you are not already in the know about this local gem, then during pregnancy might be the BEST time to check it out.

Sew Local Stitch Lounge is all about creating a space for creativity and self-expression with a super delightful DIY vibe. They teach workshops, classes, one-on-one sewing lessons, intimate social gatherings all within a super warm and friendly space. They also carry fabric and lots of great patterns and notions in their shop too.

Not only will the skills you will pick up at Sew Local be helpful after you welcome your tiny human, BUT you never know who you might meet!

2.DIY Craftery and Lounge

DIY Craftery and Lounge is a super fabulous space that is all about “filling this town with art” and that is EXACTLY what it does.

DIY Craftery and Lounge is a licensed arts and craft studio in downtown Sudbury. They have scheduled events throughout the week and weekend, and are also available to BOOK YOUR OWN CLASS! That’s right, you could gather all of your tribe and get together to make some sweet stuff for you, your house, your tiny human, or whatever tickles your fancy. They will also soon be offering options for baby showers, bridal showers and bachelorette parties.

You DO NOT need to be artsy to have fun here. I went to a paint your paddle night and had a BLAST, and I am pretty much the least artsy person I know.

3.Come to a Bump Chat and Brunch

The Northern Mama Team host a monthly Bump Chat and Brunch. At these brunches, expectant mamas come together to eat, chat and ask all their birth and pregnancy questions. Not only are these events a great way to meet other pregnant people in our community, but we also always have guest speakers who have recently given birth, that share their own birth stories.

Not only are these events full of incredibly valuable information, but also SUPER FUN! Stay in the loop about our events here.

4. Go to Prenatal Yoga at ARC Climbing and Fitness

The prenatal yoga at ARC Climbing and Fitness is a freaking awesome way to get in exercise during your pregnancy. Yoga during your pregnancy is a great way to stay fit while also preparing for your upcoming birth (two birds one stone, right?).

“The classes are designed to build strength, stamina and mental fortitude, as well as improve mobility in the hips to create space for the main event and aid with postpartum healing.”They also have Parent and Baby Yoga classes for after your tiny human arrives!

5. Treat yo-self at Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop and Bar

If you haven’t had a chance to try out Guilty Pleasures Bakeshop and Bar then you are in for an absolute delight! Guilty Pleasures is Sudbury’s premiere bakeshop, and the sweet treats are legitimately the bomb.

Not only are they totally unique, made in-house and handcrafted by the incredible team at Guilty Pleasures but they have options for everyone. There are gluten-free and vegan cupcakes always available. They also have great decaf coffee and caffeine free tea lattes!

PLUS you can pick up one of our Northern Mama Mugs while you are there 😉

6. Create the ultimate Baby Shower Registry at Jump! The Baby Store

Walking into a big department store filled with baby stuff can be terrifying as a newly pregnant person, there are so many options and very little guidance which is why we FREAKING LOVE the Gift Registry available at Jump! The Baby Store.

One of their hella knowledgeable team members can literally walk you through the entire process of making your gift registry (if you want), making it so easy and so stress-free. You can do it in person, or even online if you prefer. Plus the baby clothes are seriously the absolute cutest things ever!

7. Host a Private Prenatal Class

We totally understand that it can be hard to find time in our busy schedules to attend prenatal classes, especially if you or your partner work shift work or have opposite schedules. Northern Mama, therefore, offers private prenatal classes which are tailored to YOUR schedule.

This Private Prenatal Class is perfect for expectant parents who want to learn all about birth and how to make the experience as stress-free as possible. These classes are not only full of information but are SUCH A GOOD TIME. Find out more here 🙂

8. Don’t Forget the Classics

It may sound a bit cliche, and you might be sick of hearing it. But try to take this time before baby arrives to get in some quality one on one time with your partner (should you have one) or reallllly enjoy some alone time.

Go to dinner and the movies, have a night to just Netflix and chill (for reals lol), do things together that you enjoy. OR go to dinner and movie by yourself, and lavish up this time to being you.

I am by no means saying you will never get to do these things again, but it just might be a little while and might look a be slightly different after your baby arrives.

So there you have it, that is Northern Mama’s Ultimate Guide to Pregnancy in Sudbury.
